“Extremely talented and a breath of fresh air. Sometimes shocking, but always delightful. I foresee quite an expanding future for him” The Amazing Kreskin (most famous TV psychic in America – so there!)
Musical comedian Mister Meredith sings dances and surprises in this darkly comic journey through a life in turn blighted and blessed by sex, bondage and religion.
Initially conceived as part of the Wotever Sex season at Royal Vauxhall Tavern (recently host to such high quality acts as Graham Norton, Julian Clary and Scott Capurro), Dragged, Kicked and Screaming sees the multi-talented gay performer previewing his hour-long self-penned show before taking it up to Edinburgh. Musical numbers include his popular Dalek Love Song, Eat Yourself Thin and That Old Time Religion – although possibly not the version you’re familiar with.
Mister Meredith has been sneaking up on the London cabaret circuit for the last couple of years. As well as performing at celebrated gay venues such as Central Station, Royal Vauxhall Tavern and The Village, his saucy black humour effortlessly crosses over to more mainstream places like Volupte, Pigalle and Madame Jojos.
As with his previous show Mad Fags and Englishmen, which played successfully at Don’t tell Mama, New York before transferring for a short run at Leicester Square Theatre, London, he is joined by David Somerset Barnes, a vocalist of rare talent, also known for his work with established “bearlesque” troupe The Bears and the nine piece funk band Funkify.
Ingo Andersson is Creative Director and Producer for Wotever World. After years of directing in her native Sweden, she relocated to the London over five years ago to form the hugely successful “open doors, everybody welcome” Club Wotever. The Wotever brand now includes Bar Wotever, Wotever Brighton, Queer Complex and Klub Fukk, while continuing to make its presence felt in mainland Europe.
